About This Spot

Stepping into The Burrito Lady feels like entering a cherished corner of Albuquerque where the pace slows just enough to savor a moment of genuine warmth. This modest spot on Eubank Boulevard carries the kind of quiet energy that comes from years of neighborhood love and steady rhythm — a welcoming sense that here, meals are crafted with care and served with a smile.

The atmosphere hums with the soft bustle of a local morning ritual. Whether you're grabbing a breakfast burrito before heading out or settling in a bit longer to enjoy the ebb and flow of conversation, the experience is unpretentious and real. There’s an honest simplicity in the surroundings, with staff who move efficiently yet thoughtfully, knowing the food they prepare is more than just a meal — it’s a daily act of hospitality.

Menus here don’t overwhelm but invite you into a world rich with tradition and flavor. The burritos, wrapped tight and generous, carry the heart of New Mexican cuisine with every bite — tender meats, vibrant chiles, and comforting potatoes that linger warmly on the palate. It’s the kind of place where the balance of red and green chile isn’t just heat, but a conversation in spice and soul. The smell alone promises a satisfying start or a comforting pause in a busy day.

There’s something deeply rooted in the ritual of waiting here, too. This is food made thoughtfully, never rushed, embodying a kind of patience rare in today's fast pace. Locals know to call ahead or bring cash, small gestures that acknowledge the reality of a small business thriving on its own terms. And while the lines may stretch, the atmosphere makes the wait part of the day’s rhythm, not a disruption.

As this beloved local spot moves toward a heartfelt farewell, there’s a warm collective appreciation woven into the community. It’s a reminder that places like The Burrito Lady aren’t just about what’s on the plate — they’re about the simple joy of sharing good food, familiar faces, and the quiet moments that, in their own way, nourish the soul.

The food from The Burrito Lady is phenomenal! I just wish I would have discovered it when we moved here. She has decided to close down at the end of the year due to retirement, which is a shame for all of us, but good for her. I will enjoy her burritos until then.

Omg, the burrito lady's BURRITOS are SO fire! I give it a 9.1. The steak, potatoes, and green chili burrito was really good; the steak was so tender. Also got a smothered carne adovada Christmas, which was just as tasty. Since the lady is retiring in December, everybody should go out and support this nice local place. Fyi it's very busy, but the hardworking lady was getting all the burritos out in a timely manner. She's a champion on the stove. One of the best burritos in Albuquerque. I tried Beef Jerky Company a few weeks ago, which was also great, but this one overtakes it. Agreed? Watch out the green chili burrito has a KICK TO IT.

Very good experience, the burritos were ready in no time, the staff was super nice, and we just chilled inside until we were done chatting. I saw other reviews about payment, yes they prefer cash. What people don't fully realize is that when you pay with a card the business has to pay fees, resulting in less money for them. As a small business this fee adds up and is an unnecessary/unpleasant expense for them.

It's one of the best burritos in town! I highly recommend calling and picking up your order as this food is made with love and love, takes time, (or make sure you're not in a hurry). Red and green chile are hot, so you've been warned. The Supreme Burrito is one of my favorites, but everything is amazing.

The best burrito of all time. The best chile of all time. #1, just get that. It will make your heart happy, it will make your day better, it will make you a better human. Let me tell you something, this burrito is gonna change your life… you’ll probably finally be able to hit your driver straight. If you want to be wined and dined, don’t come. If you want to change the items on the menu, don’t come. If you want to ask questions or pay with credit card, go to twisters. Bring yo cash and say thank you. Even if your order is wrong, I promise you this: it’s still going to be amazing.

OK, so I’ll be completely honest. I was first going to rate this one star but once I started eating my food! Boy immediately turned into a five star. What I didn’t like about this place is the wait. But this is a small company and they’re making everything by hand so you have to keep that in mind. You’ll be there waiting for about 35 minutes during lunch. But boy oh boy, let me tell you! The steak potato, green chili and cheese burrito.!!!!!! Amazing! Absolutely delicious. It taste like something your mom cooked up when you were a child.
